Bringing Together Creatives
Our Story
Welcome to TFP meet ups CHCH, a vibrant and inclusive community where photographers and models come together to learn, collaborate, and create in a safe and supportive environment.
Founded in 2020, our group has been bringing creatives together for regular meet-ups around Christchurch, as well as exciting away trips to unique locations. We also offer occasional workshops to help both models and photographers refine their skills and gain confidence in their craft. Whether you're an experienced pro or just starting out, you'll find a welcoming space to connect and grow.

What is TFP?
TFP = Time for Print
TFP, or Time for Print, is a common term used in the photography and modeling community. It refers to a collaborative photoshoot where neither the photographer nor the model charges a fee. Instead, both parties exchange their time and skills for edited images that they can use in their portfolios.
How Does TFP Work?
-
Mutual Benefit: TFP shoots allow both photographers and models to build their portfolios, experiment with new ideas, and gain experience without financial transactions.
-
Collaboration: Since it’s a trade, clear communication about expectations, concepts, and deliverables is essential.
-
Prints & Digital Copies: Originally, TFP referred to receiving physical prints, but today, it usually means receiving high-resolution digital images instead.
-
Fair Exchange: Since no money is exchanged, both the photographer and model should agree on the number of images provided and the editing timeline beforehand.
Who is TFP For?
TFP shoots are ideal for:
✅ Aspiring models and photographers looking to build experience
✅ Creatives experimenting with new styles, lighting, or concepts
✅ Expanding portfolios without financial commitment
✅ Stylists, makeup artists, and designers who want to showcase their work in professional images
Important Things to Consider
-
Respect & Professionalism: Even though TFP is unpaid, it should still be treated professionally. Arriving on time, preparing for the shoot, and delivering agreed-upon images is key.
-
Clear Agreements: Discuss and agree on image usage rights, edits, and delivery timeframes before the shoot to ensure a smooth experience.
-
Making it worthwhile - models appreciate having more images from their time, rather than only 3 or 4.
TFP is a fantastic way to network, gain confidence, and create amazing images without financial barriers. It’s all about collaboration, creativity, and community!
